Response time is key, do you have a snakebite kit ready?
September 2, 2022
Australia is home to some of the most venomous animals in the world. A bite from a snake or spider can be potentially life threatening and they are not only occurring in the bush.
While the perception remains that snake bite incidents occur in rural areas, we found that nearly half the incidents occurred in an urban environment.

Immediate first aid and response time to a health facility are critical. Having a snakebite & spider bite kit with clear instructions on treating bites can greatly reduce stress and response times.
Do you have the supplies available for staff in vehicles and on site?
Additionally, visual aids such as snake bite bandages can help responders apply bandages with the correct pressure. See the video below for an example.
